Recording Requirements

Camera Setup

• Resolution: Use 720p (1280×720) or 1080p (1920×1080)
• Frame Composition:
  • Shoot from waist/chest up with face centered
  • Maintain consistent distance from camera (face should occupy 30-40% of frame height)
  • Avoid extreme closeups or distant shots
• Lighting:
  • Use diffused, front-facing lighting
  • Eliminate shadows on face
  • Avoid backlighting or mixed temperature lights
• Background:
  • Solid color preferred (white/neutral recommended)
  • No patterns/textures that distract from subject
• Movement:
  • Keep head stable with minimal side-to-side motion
  • Maintain eye contact with camera lens
  • Avoid sudden movements or frame exits
• Look:
  • Avoid glasses, high-collar shirts and accessories on or around the face
  • Make sure long hair is tucked back into a bun and does not come around the face

Audio Setup

• Use a quiet environment without background noise
• Avoid rooms with echo/reverb (use soft furnishings)
• Microphone:
  • Position 6-12 inches from mouth
  • Keep mic out of frame if visible
• External Mics:
  • Place lapel mics on chest, not collar
  • Ensure shotgun mics stay above frame
  • Avoid mics that obscure facial features
• Speech:
  • Speak clearly at consistent volume
  • Avoid plosive sounds (use pop filter)

Content Guidelines

• Video Length: 3-5 minutes of continuous speech
• Avoid:
  • Mid-sentence interruptions or restarts
  • Facial obstructions (hands, hair, microphones)
• Pauses:
  • 2-3 seconds at start/end
  • 1 second between sentences
  • Keep lips closed during pauses

Training Process

1. Consent: Before providing a training video, you must record a consent video stating that you permit Avatario to use your likeness.
2. Recording: Record the video following the guidelines provided above.
3. Submission: Send the video to our support team at support@avatario.ai or provide a presigned S3 URL with access valid up to 24 hours.
4. Processing: Our system will process your video and generate a custom avatar.
   • Typical generation time: 12-15 hours
   • You'll receive an email notification when your avatar is ready
   • Failed submissions will specify rejection reasons (audio quality issues, facial obstructions, lighting inconsistencies)
5. Integration: Once completed, the avatar will appear in your dashboard with a unique avatar ID that you can use in your applications.

• Follow Guidelines Precisely: Skipping guidelines is the most common reason for rejection
• Test Thoroughly: After creation, test your avatar with various types of speech and content
